RENAULT NATIONAL BEACH VOLLEYBALL SERIES PREMIERE ON NINE GO!

The inaugural Renault National Beach Volleyball Series 2011/12 will appear on the free to air Nine GO! Channel starting this Sunday, March 4, 1pm launching episode one of the series.

After great anticipation since the first round in Newcastle, the series is set to appear on Nines’ most popular digital channel, broadcasting half hour weekly programs of all eight rounds.

As the highest rating digital channel in the country with a share of 32% of viewer audience , and appealing to a wide audience cross section of 16 -39 year olds, the Nine Go! channel will be sure to generate great exposure and reach for the series, the sport and sponsors.

The free to air  (FTA) Nine GO! channel has previously recorded programs with viewership’s of up to 800,000 and will play a large role in elevating the awareness of the sport, especially with the London 2012 Olympic Games also scheduled to broadcast on the Nine Network.

This summer the Renault National Beach Volleyball Series has hit the beaches around Australia, ending a four year absence of professional beach volleyball, launching a bigger and better schedule with eight rounds on Australia’s most iconic beaches including Surfers Paradise, St Kilda, Glenelg, Scarborough and Manly.

With the London 2012 Olympics just around the corner, this much anticipated professional series is perfect for Australia’s best athletes to prepare, with the likes of 2000 Olympic gold medalist Natalie Cook and three time Olympian Josh Slack.

Programs’ will feature a fusion of sport and entertainment, including footage of the men’s and women’s main game play as well as highlights from each round including athlete profiles and sponsor segments.  

Expert commentary by 2000 Olympic gold medalist Kerri Pottharst and Jon Fogarty.

Episode one begins in Newcastle on Nobbys Beach, where the weather turned on heated conditions for a great kick start to the sport of beach volleyball.
