Welcome to the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong. This first game will see the undefeated WA Pearls take on UTS- Sydney Uni in the first semi final. The winner of this match will progress straight into the Gold Medal match. The WA Pearls have been the premier team in outstanding form. UTSSU are the leading defending team this series, while WA are the best attacking team.
This first semi final wll start in 10 mintues.
First point to WA as Day serves and the ball drops short over the net. Service error by day and the scores are level 1-1. Frostick using the block and the ball goes out 2-1, UTSSU. Brammer finds the gap, WA 3-2. Buteux siding out for UTSSU, 5-4 UTSSU. Brammer returns the favour with the cross court, scores are level 5-5. Johnson rolling it acorss the tape and short into UTSSU court, 6-5 WA. Handling error from Nemeckayova, 8-5. West just sending the ball wide, 9-7 to WA. West puts it away into Woodhouse 10-7. Hielmeier puts it away off West at teh net 10-8. WA just send the ball long 10-9. Scores are level 11-11, as both teams force handling errors. Great block by Laird on Brammer, UTSSU 12-11. Double touch by McAllan 13-11. Brammer and Cairns on Frostick at the net to level the scores 13-13. West with the ACE 14-13. Frostick using the block of Brammer 14-13. Great block by Cairns, 16-14 WA back in the lead.
Buteux using the slide run 16-15 WA. Four touches called on UTSSU 18-17, Cairns to serve. Buteux just too long, 19-16 and a service error by Cairns just inches wide 19-17. Great block by west on Frostick, 20-17. Frostick with the front court attack running the quick ball, 20-17 WA. Hielmeier serves for UTSSU and WA can't control the ups, 20-19. Brammer from the outside, UTSSU get the touch and can't control the ball. UTSSU call a time out as WA edge closer to taking out this first set as they lead 23-19.
Frostick off the block of Holmes, falling short of West. UTSSU get two quick points 23-21, WA call a time out.
West through the middle finds the gap, bringing up set point for WA 24-21. West serving the ball short and WA take out the first set 25-21.
Set 2

UTSSU- Frostick (C), Morgan, Laird, Hielmeier, Nemeckayova, Buteux, Cochet (L)
An unchanged line up for WA. Morgan comes in for Woodhouse for UTSSU. Scores are level at the beginning of the second set as teams go point for point. Service errors by both teams and scores are still level 5-5. A joust at the net with West and Buteux, WA get the point and take the lead 7-5. Hielmeier with the slide off the block, 7-6. Scores are level again, WA not bring able to control the ball. Morgan sends her serve into the net, 8-7 WA. Frostick reaching high putting it in of McAllan, 8-8. Hielmeier also putting her serve into the net, 9-8. West touches the ball into the open courrt 10-8. WA taking advantage of the free ball. Brammer with the cross court kill, too wide for Morgan, 11-8 WA. Time out UTSSU.
Frostick going down the line off the arms of Cairns, 11-9. UTSSU caught off guard 12-9. Buteux with the tip 12-10. Frostick serves the ball long 13-10. West also serving the ball long 13-11. Woodhouse comes in for Laird to serve. Block from Brammer on Morgan 14-11. Net touch by WA 14-12. Scores are now level in this second set 14-14. Time out to WA, as UTSSU come back to take the lead 15-14.
The time out has worked for WA, they have kept UTSSU scoreless since the time out, WA take the lead 18-15. Frostick putting it into the net 19-15. Day putting it deep in the free court- no communication from UTSSU 20-15. WA can't get the ups from Morgan's serve 20-16. Nemeckayova with the backward tip into the open court 21-18. Laird comes back into the game and Weeber comes on for Hielmeier. Day finding the line, 22-18. Great block Holmes and West down the line 23-18. Long rally, both teams not being able to kill the ball. Day finally sending it long 23-19. Buteux finds the gap in the back court , UTSSU narrow the gap 23-20. West through the middle to bring up set point for WA 24-20. Godfrey subs in for Cairns. Frostick through the block to save the set 21-24. Great set by Holmes puching it out to Brammer with the cross court kill, as WA take out the second set 25-21.
Set 3

UTSSU- Frostick (C), Morgan, Laird, Hielmeier, Nemeckayova, Buteux, Cochet (L)
Laird through the middle to get the first points for UTSSU. Service error by Nemeckayova 1-1. West with the ACE, 2-1. Buteux going for the slide, but it's a net touch by WA, 2-2. Frostick into the net for UTSSU 3-3. Quick ball from Holmes to Johnson. Buteux rolling it off the tape short into WA court, 4-3 UTSSU. Brammer deep into the corner 4-4. Brammer serves two points for WA, 6-4. Day putting it away into Frostick 7-4. No communication by UTSSU as they chase after the ball and an easy point to WA 8-4. Time out by UTSSU, after UTSSU are called for lifting, 9-4 to WA.
West fires up, finding the gap through the middle from a back court attack 10-4. UTSSU called for a net touch 11-5. Buteux with the slide 11-6. Frostick gets the block on West, 11-7 WA. Day puts it away in the back court, UTSSU send the ball flying high and then put it into the net 13-7. The ball crosses the net over ten times, UTSSU finally get the point after too many touches by WA 13-8. WA take advantage of the overpass 15-8. West at the net with the block 16-8. Day's serve is long, 16-9. Again, West at the net killing the overpass, 17-9. Godfrey comes in for Cairns at the net. Buteux with the slide, through the block putting it away 17-10.
Great set by Nemeckayova to Laird, as Laird puts it away off Godfrey, 18-12. Blowes comes in for Laird. Robertson subs in for Johnson as WA lead 19-13. Hielmeier from the attack line putting it away, 19-14. UTSSU send the ball long, as West watches the ball go out 20-14. Morgan comes on for Blowes to serve, 20-15 to WA. Morgan's serve into the net, 21-15. Roberston's serve going long. Laird back in for Woodhouse at the net, 21-16. Frostock putting it away off the block, 21-17. Great block by West, as WA look like taking this game in this third set, 22-17. Ball going out for WA, but they think it was touched, 22-20. West kills the ball in the front court 23-20. Frostick brings up match point for WA putting it into the net 24-20. West to serve for WA. WA take out the game in three sets with a hitting error by Laird, 25-20.
The win puts WA straight into the Gold Medal match as they continue their unbeaten record. UTSSU get a second chance again tonight at 6pm, against the winner of the next match between Uni Blues and Volleyball SA.
