Aussies helped to an early two point lead by service and attack error from Korea, then both teams settle in at 6-5. Australia holding their own against attacking combinations by Korea 9-9. A serve error following by a serve receive error from AUS swings the momentum Korea’s way 9-12. Timeout Australia 11-15. Consistent play by Aussies then service ace by Hand puts Australia back in the set 18-18. Despite good Aussie defence, Korea gain the advantage again, 19-22. Korea win the first set 21-25.
Korea opens up an early lead 1-5. Technical timeout 2-8. Korea having to hit the ball from all positions to win points, but are able to keep building on their lead 4-13. Aussies staying in touch but need to make some headway on the Korean lead 8-17. Jensen helps the Aussie hopes with two kill blocks, 12-18. Korea continue hitting winners before Australia call a timeout, 13-22. An overpass from Korea is put away by Smith 15-22. Good serving from Skipper 17-22. Crosscourt winner from Frostick 18-23. Australia trying hard to take this set but Korea holds on 21-25.
Aussies start well 3-1. Good offense by Day and Jensen. Point for point, Australia with the slender lead 7-5. Timeout Korea 8-5. Korea levels at 10-10 all. Good serve by Godfrey gives Jensen an overpass to put away 12-11. Korea fight back and take the lead 12-15. Aussies are not able to stop the Korean momentum, Australia calling a timeout 14-23. Skipper gets one back with a crosscourt hit then Day and Jensen successfully block the Korean attack 17-23. Unfortunately for Australia, Korea wins the next two points to finish the set 17-25.
