2009 ARAFURA GAMES – DARWIN

The Aussies competed in the Arafura Games in Darwin during the period 9-17 May 2009. The team arrived in Darwin on 4 May for an extensive training period prior to competing in the rounds of the indoor volleyball competition.

 7th Asian Youth Girls Championships

The Aussies will be competing for a place in the 2009 World Youth Girls Championships in Manilla, The Philippines 11-18 October. The team will depart for Manilla on 6 October and return on 19 October.

Youth Trans Tasman Series

For the first time in five years New Zealand will field at youth age group team (as opposed to the older junior age group) to compete against the Australian Youth Team. A series of five matches will be played on NZ South Island. The team Aussies will depart for Christchurch on Saturday 4 October and return to Australia on Sunday 12 October.

2007/2008 Training Camps

The Australian Volleyball 1992 Youth Women’s squad began preparation for international competition in October 2008. The first activity for this age group was the Bendigo Camp to be held from 14 – 20 December 2007 for 67 athletes and 12 coaches.
